![]() ![]() The wedge sole is very comfortable and doesn't wear me out. The last is narrower than most Red Wing lasts and the toe isn't as bulbous so this works well for my desired look. The black chaparral leather is thick, and while it can take on a shine, it isn't overtly shiny, which is my preference. I have learned my lesson and now buy accordingly. I want to make it clear I think a lot of people buy shoes too small for their feet. The break-in was a bit rough, but the leather eventually stretched to make it work. I purchased these shoes TTS when I thought I was a 9.5D brannock, and I probably would've been better served going up to a 10. Barrie last fits me best in a 9.5, for reference. Due to the variance of my foot and ball length as well as the difference between my feet sizing, it really depends on the last for whether I'm a 9.5 or 10. ![]() Also my forefoot is a bit wider thanmy heel. My left foot is a 9.5D with a 10 ball length, and my right foot is a wider 9.75 or 10 with a 10 ball length (thanks to /u/riderboots for sizing me and helping me sort that out). I called Need Supply and had them ship the shoes over to the storefront, tried them on, and the purchased them. They were originally $280 and I hemmed and hawed over the price until I finally noticed they were on sale and my size was the only one available. It was limited offering and only a few different stores stocked them. I purchased the Postman boot at Need Supply on sale for $175 in early Spring of 2016 (I can't remember exactly when). The sole is comfortable and I never have foot pain after walking. This boot fits the bill with a sleeker last for Red Wings while still maintaining a minima utilitarian design. My criteria required a comfortable walking shoe, as I work on my feet, and a clean sleek design without being flashy, as I wanna look nice but not fancy. I was looking for black boot for work at the restaurant I manage. I've been looking at this board for about 3 years now but I mostly just try to answer simple questions and then gaze longingly at all the Alden shell boots I can't afford. ![]()
